About Pat Patterson, CSP

Pat Patterson, CSP, president and owner of L.A.A.P., Inc., has more than 35 years of experience in OSHA compliance, safety, health, and consulting. His familiarity with accident and loss prevention, root cause analyses, compliance assessments, and training allows him to lead LAAP in providing innovative and comprehensive safety management and consulting services to our clients. His successful career with LAAP began in 1990, and prior to that he had many achievements and a varied background in regulatory compliance.

A Lifetime of Service & Regulation

Pat Patterson proudly enlisted in the United States Army in 1966 and was honorably discharged in 1972 at the rank of E-5. He served one year in Vietnam, from 1968 to 1969, in the Army Corp of Engineers. Upon returning to civilian life, he decided to continue his education, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health from the University of Houston, Clear Lake. He is a Certified Safety Professional, certified by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. He has held certifications as a Loss Control Representative with the Texas Department of Insurance and Field Safety Representative and Approved Professional Source with the Texas Workers Compensation Commission.


He is a past executive committee member of the National Safety Council, Construction Section, and has instructed numerous safety, health, and fire prevention programs for a variety of companies and industries, including a past instructor for San Jacinto College, located in Pasadena, Texas, and the Texas A&M Fire Training School. Pat has served as Manager of Safety, Health, Security, and Terminal Environment for a major bulk liquid chemical storage and distribution facility and Corporate Manager of Loss Control for a major high-rise, road, and bridge contractor. Prior to that, Pat began his career in safety with Diamond Shamrock Chemical Corporation as Safety and Fire Protection Supervisor.

Today, Pat and his team at LAAP provide safety & health consulting, gap analysis, safety assessments and training to various clients across the United States in an effort to assist them in providing a safe environment for employees, contractors, and visitors entering their businesses. In addition, the team assists companies in becoming certified in ISO 45001, along with receiving OSHA approval under their Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). Their "Total Safety Management" program builds the framework for this certification and approval.
